The design award is considered to be the country's highest distinction in the field of design. The award is going to be announced by the minister of economics and technology and it's going to be settled by the german design council. Products can only enter the competition for the design award if its product has already been awarded a national or international design price. Another precondition for entry is that companies must have been nominated by the ministries or by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

The winners are going to be announced in September. May the best design win.
